BankerGirl Needs a Makeover
I am less than thrilled by my current blog theme and design. I want to do total makeover and change everything except my logo. I am pretty sure that I’m going to need to hire someone to do it (I can’t even figure out how to add a “Best of BankerGirl” widget to the site), so it could take awhile.
In the meantime, I’ll be shifting some things around on my sidebars and experimenting with monetizing. I’m still not sure if adding advertisements is prudent, but since I have so few subscribers, I figure what the heck - I’m going to go for it. Let me know what you think.
By the way, I have been loving Alltop.com lately. I first read about Alltop on Twitter and have been hooked ever since. Alltop is a wonderful little blog aggregator with a simple, clean design. I use Google Reader to keep up on all of the finance news sites and blogs, but I’ve been using Alltop to source cool new marketing sites (since marketing strategy is my newest discipline, I have a lot to learn). I have added a link to Alltop in my sidebar, and if you go to Alltop personal finance -under the “living” heading - you’ll find BankerGirl at the very, very bottom of the page. I can’t believe they included my tiny little blog, but it’s been sending a little traffic my way already, so that’s exciting!

For best of, I’d recommend picking your favorite posts and doing an “unordered” list yourself. But if you want the top posts in terms of popularity (you can pick visits or comments), then this plugin allows you to display top posts either by category or regardless of category. I’ve thought about it…

I love Alltop. I get a ton of traffic from them and I always find interesting things. I might even have found you there.
