BankerGirl’s Holiday Budget – The Results Show
I put my holiday shopping off until yesterday, but I got it mostly done in one afternoon. I have never waited so long to purchase my gifts, but based on the great deals I got, I may do it again.

I didn’t pay full retail price for any single item that I purchased yesterday (the exception of course, is the Wii, my partner and I got each other, but we already had that). There were so many great sales I literally had no idea an item’s price before I paid for it. Nearly every time I approached the register with a purchase I would be told, “That item is an additional 20% off today’s sale price” - score!
I plan to pick up a little extra something today for my future mother-in-law, her gift isn’t quite complete. Aside from that, I am done with my holiday shopping for 2007.
I do have a confession to make, however. I didn’t make it out of the mall without picking up a little something(s) for myself. I purchased a sweater, a vest, and a watch (all seriously marked-down) - total spent: $110.47. If you add that to my total above, I actually went $30.03 over budget yesterday. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again - I can’t be trusted.
Maybe next year I’m going to try the envelope method that RacerX mentioned in yesterday’s comments.
Stumble it!

Depending on what you’ve done with them and how you feel about them, you could also consider returning one of the 3 and getting your money back. That might put you right around budget…
Just a thought. I hate returning stuff, but I also hate buyer’s remorse.

One thing to remmeber, you have not done this well in the past!
The importantthing is to decide if the purchase fit, or can be taken out of another bucket (clothes) or should you possibly return something - Yeck!
Nice thing about cash, singing and dancing Visa commercials aside, once the $ is gone…it is gone!

Congratulations on your bargain shopping! I didn’t go out until yesterday. I’m with you. I may wait until the last minute next year too.
