Under Construction
My blog has something in common with the Velveteen Rabbit: it desperately wants to become Real. As you can plainly see by looking around, much needs to done to spruce my site up and make it “real”.
One of the reasons you’re in stranded in theme hell right now is that I know virtually nothing about XHTML, CSS or PHP. I plan on remedying this by learning from a book and other bloggers out there, but it will likely be a slow, painful process as I am starting from scratch. I have never taken any kind of programming class and know nothing about code, which I am sure is evident by looking at my website.
Here’s a specific example of my complete and utter cluelessness: I registered my domain name with a hosting company, and once I had access to the site - I had no idea what to do with it. I had to call and get my money back because I didn’t know what to do with the files that had been downloaded on my PC! My future brother-in-law is now hosting me for free (he’s the tech genius in the family), but this is his first exposure to WordPress as well - please bear with us.
So, let me take this opportunity to thank the few of you that are reading in spite of my blog’s numerous flaws. It may take me a while to find my voice, prefect my style, and fix the theme and layout. I appreciate your willingness to stick it out with me and see what comes of this little venture.
Stumble it!

Hey, I know nothing about programming either … I probably can’t even spell CSS. I just chose a widget-ready theme and ran with it. Have you seen the money blog network forums? It seems like a useful place to bounce questions off other bloggers.

Hi Heidi! I’ve enjoyed reading your comments on Trent’s blog and thought I’d check yours out. Anyway, if you have any questions about plugins or Wordpress in general, please let me know. I’m certainly not an expert, but I’ve done a heck of a lot of learning in the last few months.
The Money Blog Network forums (forums.moneyblognetwork.com) is also a great place to ask for help. I’ve had some really stupid questions helpfully answered by the bloggers over there.

@Mrs. Micah: I will take you up on the offer to help with WordPress - you’ll be hearing from me!

Good luck on getting the blog up and running. It can be a learning curve, but it’s enjoyable and ultimately not too difficult.
