This is the second of a multi-installment series on starting your own business. If you’d like to start reading this series from the beginning, click here.
Most entrepreneurs don’t go into to business for themselves to fill out forms, complete pro forma financials, or write a business plan. For these individuals, paperwork seems to be […]

This is a guest post from my partner, Matt. Matt is a former photographer - and while I did not know him when he was an entrepreneur, I have enjoyed the stories about his ill-fated venture greatly. I thought I would share the text from a piece that he did as a design student with you.
My […]

I spent most of last week at a banking conference in Chicago. It was one of the better industry events I’ve attended in the past couple of years. The panel of speakers included representation from every sector of the financial services market, from a key analyst at Goldman Sachs to a former President’s chief economic […]

Earlier this week I posted an article on How to Improve Your Credit Score. Shortly after that post went up, I received this email from a reader:
“My husband and I are preparing to purchase our first home. Is there anything we can do in the next month or so that will bump our credit up […]

Today I had a small victory in my battle with debt - I found a bank that would consolidate all of my credit card balances at fixed rate of 5.99%. That’s lower than the interest rate on my car loan! This should allow me to make some major inroads to eliminating my revolving debt.
There are […]

One of the reasons my debt is so out of control is that I got in a cycle of paying off debt with other loans. My favorite way to play this game was to pay off credit card debt with student loan proceeds. It was my justification for always taking the maximum student loan amount allowed - I figured […]
